PERSONAL PROFILE
Elisabeth Lid Trøen (born 15. Mach 1992) is a jazz saxophone player based in Bergen. She began studying the jazz tradition at the age of 16, at Voss Jazzskule, and she earned her Bachelor's degree in Performing music from the acknowledged Jazz program at Norwegian University og Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2015. Since then she has been working as a professional musician, and can be herd in bands such as Bergen Big Band, Vestnorsk Jazzensemble, Shakai, BounceAlarm and her main quartet Trøen/Arnesen quartet, wich is a collaboration with the acknowledged pianist Dag Arnesen from Bergen. This band released their debut album in 2021, called `Thread Lightly`. Elisabeth wrote a commissioned concert for Vossa Jazz, Trondheim Jazzfestival and Oslo Jazzfestival 2022 for this quartet, called `New Paintings of Jazz`. This project will be touring the upcoming year, so stay tuned!

WHAT’S HAPPENING
Bergen Big Band
Bergen Big Band is one of very few proffessional bigbands in Norway. They have done projects with many of the wordls most acknowledged jazz players and composers such as Chris Potter, Django Bates, Erlend Skomsvoll, Eirik Hegdal, Terje Rypdal and many more. Amogst upcoming projects in the near future are Sarah Chacsad, Hildegunn Øiseth and Martin Myhre Olsen.
Shakai
Shakai is an indie-jazz-pop band, led by bassist and songwriter Eline Rafteseth. They are going on tour this fall, and recording their second album soon, so stay tuned!

BounceAlarm
This is an exiting young band that came to life in the jazz-enviroment in Trondheim, where all the bandmembers studied jazz together. They play fresh and lively new music, in a colourful and playful way. Their first record called `Bouncing Through Some Banging Tunes` was released in 2020.
